Meanwhile, Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) released an aimed at simplifying depreciation schedules known as the 鈥淐ost Recovery Reform and Simplification Act of 2016.鈥 Senator Wyden鈥檚 proposal is modeled on a similar concept developed by former Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.). In summary, it would replace the current depreciation system with a simplified framework of 6 depreciation rates (or 鈥減ools鈥) for most assets other than real property.
