The Governing Board of Presidents of the AFL-CIO鈥檚 (BCTD) on April 16 unanimously elected Sean McGarvey to be its president.聽聽He succeeds Mark Ayers, who died suddenly on April 8 of natural causes.聽聽 McGarvey, who was serving his second five-year term as BCTD鈥檚 secretary-treasurer when elected, took office immediately.聽 McGarvey comes from the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local 252 in Philadelphia. 聽A new secretary-treasurer has not yet been announced.
